M5330: Button Closure Skirt
How preppy is this?
I really don't know if its due to all the years of wearing uniforms through my childhood into teenage years for school but I really do love plaid,, love it. I have to say, I am happy it is "HOT" for fall '07.
M5330: View A, waistband, 4 loops , 8 (3/4 inch) buttons.
This was the first time I tried working with a plaid print, I figure something easy will build my confidence to try something more complex next time,,, not anytime soon but you know what I mean
Modifications: I added 1 inch to the width of the loops because I love a more sturder loop to hold my belt, I don't like thin belts.
I added 1 inch to the waistline also for the same reason, a thin waistline seem to disappear on me, and its not flattering at all.
I used a size 20 for this skirt and its fits flush, sorry, no actually photo of it on me.
Close Up of the Front
The Back View, very simple
I am going to pair it up with my favorite white shirt and black deep cowl neek 3/4 sleeved sweater, my burgundy wrap puff sleeved top, and I'm going to layer a long sleeved plain round neck tee orange tee and brown V neck ribbed sweater, orange for a punch of color.
so off to the cleaners it go.
Guess what I got in the mail?

yeah, i have a thing for plaid too. its the uniforms, all those years... that did it for me too.
skirt is cute... reminds me of burberry. i love burberry.

Isn't that the easiest skirt pattern ever? I made that one in no time flat.

I really like that new skirt! Thanks for telling us about the waist modification - I don't like thin waistbands either.
I hadn't heard that plaid was hot this season, and am glad to hear it, as I have a lot of plaid skirts in my closet that I was going to wear anyway (cuz I love plaid too.)
