Another one of the to do list.
I've had this in my queue since it was released, I was contemplating whether or not it would look good on me, but I figure there is only way to find out.
Just make it.
This is the finished Photos:
The Review:
Pattern Description: Tapered, close-fitting dress, above mid-knee has slightly raised waist, princess seams, cut-a-way armholes, two-piece bias, turned back collar and exposed back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: size 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes except for the zipper adjustment I made.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very straight-forward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the shawl collar and the princess seams and of course the exposed zipper.
Fabric Used: Red Doubleknit, its a poly.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
As always my petite adjustment (an inch of the above the waisline)
Then I added 2 inches to the hem because I knew this one was going to be very short.
I also used a 14" zipper instead of the 18" which was recommended. More details of this is in the video.
I made a narrow hem instead of the 1 inch hem because of the length of the finished dress.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Nope, this one is in the trash. This is what I call a "one hit wonder" I have no need to make another one. Of course I love it. I think I'm going to were it like how Hillary Duff wore it on Gossip Girl with the black belt and black heels.
We will revisit this dress in the summer when I step out in it for a follow up photo "dressed up".
Marla was the one that had something about making this dress in time for Valentine's day.
I also liked this one but I think I'm good for right now.
Its raining, its cold, I have to clean, cook and start my next project.

Very cute. Red is nice and deep and it looks good on you.

Great neckline and I like the exposed zip in the back. Being a knit will make it really comfortable to wear.
