Saturday Morning, I was tuned into AM Style when I saw the look of the day.
My initial thought was, "that's cute", then I thought, "there is no way that skirt would work for me, imagine those pockets on my hips".
But the more I saw it, the more interested I became. I just had to go see what I had in my stash, in case, I wanted to make my own look.
I think....
would be a great place to start. However, for the curvy girls, I would do
instead.
Its a much more pleasing silhouette, no extra baggage on the hip area.
so its coming soon but not right away, right now I'm still figuring out what color top I want to make.
I can really see myself dressed like this on casual Friday, well my version at least.

This is why sewing is so wonderful. You take a look you like and then sew your own version that works best on you! I'm sure it will be wonderful!

I have that first skirt pattern, but I actually bought it to make a pair of pull on linen pants. Now I'm looking at the skirt!

Very cute!!
Hey, I've already used one of the patterns you sent me! I think I've found the key to beating procrastination, gifting each other patterns so you have added incentive to sew ;o)
Thanks again!

Love the skirt but I don't think I can have the extra around my midsection. Can't wait to see your version.

Give it a shot. If you don't like the pockets, just take them off.

First I had to laugh because I thought, "guess I'm not the only one watching AM Style on QVC on Saturday mornings!"
Second, I think the fuller skirt with the pockets would look great on you...just keep the shirt a little tighter to your body and you will be fine!

I think you can pull off the first skirt with the right fabric.(who asked right) lol But a fabric that'll freely drape intead of a stiff fabric (like I know) I love your pattern choices. Of course I can't wait to see the great results.

I think you could pull that look off. You have a way of making everything you make look good on you. I say go for it.
