Jeanette

I started sewing when I was seven, so... I'm not sure :-) I've had lots of other hobby's in between, mostly crafty, but I always come back to sewing.

I liked doing a lot of sporty outdoors stuff before I started sewing. Then we moved to Buffalo New York and had kids and I discovered sewing as a great hobby for being home with kids. I don't know where I would be without it. I love my kids and I am so so glad to be able to stay home with me but sewing helps me feel like I am accomplishing something artistic and practical and, well, me.

Shopping! Before sewing, I was still working full-time. I worked so many long, ridiculous hours that I didn't have time for hobbies -- other than shopping on my lunch break and weekends!

CarlaF-in Atlanta

Reading, writing, photography and occasionally dipping my toe into knitting

They still are my hobbies they are just on the back burner for now. I still have unfinished knitting and crochet projects. I garden, and have been planting over the last few weeks. I also make soap.

Before sewing garments, crocheting and home dec projects.

I've been sewing off and on since childhood, so nothing really before. But I have lots of other hobbies, the main (and constant) one is cross stitch. I also knit, garden, make soaps and such, dabble in a bit of stained glass, and occasionally weave baskets... to name a few. I guess I have a bit of Crafter's ADD. LOL

Crafting has always been my hobby. This would include sewing, jewelry making (all types - metal clay, beading, etc.), making hair products, lotions, skin care concoctions, Soap, cross stitching, etc. Strangely enough, I've never gotten into crocheting or knitting. I really want to take a shoe making class badly. Also, not sure if this is a hobby but I love collecting (and using) kitchen gadgets, appliances, utensils...You name it!

Susan - Knitters Delight

I have been sewing for 3 years now. I have been knitting for 15.

Carolyn

I started sewing at 11 - so I guess it would be playing! *LOL* Okay and maybe reading which I also still do today!

Tanya

I think I started crocheting before sewing. At that time my Mother was still making most of my clothes.

Scrapbooking. I just did a mini album about a month ago. First thing I've done in about two years. The desire totally left when I tried to make a memory album of Patrick for Tony. I want to do an album for the baby sooooo lol. We will see lol.

Lori

I started sewing when I was in 8th grade, so pretty much sewing. I do remember doing needlepoint, my mom would trace out a design on the canvas and I would stitch it. My first one, the Girl Scout emblem!

Kathyann

I have been sewing off and on since I was about 12 years old. I also crotchet, knitting, reading, gardening, fishing and at one point, which I need to get back into exercising and working out.

G

Knitting.

Carla

crochet, reading, shopping and more shopping

Myra

I've been sewing since I was 13 yrs old! I really didn't have a hobby before sewing. However, I do take a break from sewing now to make jewelry, which is my second hobby love!

Sandy

I started sewing when I was about 9, so didn't really have any hobbies. I used to (and still do) read alot. But then again I was also very nerdy. Thank God for sewing!

Tany

I started sewing when I was 12... I don't remember having any serious hobby then ( I loved to read and draw, but I still do that in the present)

Sarah

Knitting, cooking, browsing in charity shops, collecting vintage cookery books.
