"A Hint" was the words Carolina Herrera stated when asked about her inspiration for her Fall 2013 collection.
A hint of the 1940's is absolutely what you got.
It was like a movie. The musical score was concocted by Tom Hodge, a reinterpretation of a Beethoven classic, the models walked with elegance and grace and the garments displayed levels of grandeur fit for the silver screen.
It was everything!
I've seen a lot of print-blocking and color-blocking for Fall 2013 but this is a first, velvet and printed silk. Same detail for Look 24 and as a shirt in Look 35, I would have never came up with this, velvet makes this dress looks so much more luxurious that just using a smooth solid.
I love the abstract embroidery design on the trench coat with sequins it looks like shads of glass. I also like the raised gather sleeve cap an the fur collar.
If you look closer the design lines are very vintage inspired but the print conceals that, all that is left is the pretty sleeves. cuffs and bow.
What I like about this jacket is the huge buttonholes and how they used the same thread to emphasis . the godet of gathers at the sleeve.
Chervon weave coat, beautiful
I love this suit, the fact that they did the top and bottom in the same color and same fabric, I don't see bow tie blouses in medium to heavy weight fabrics so this is an idea right here.
I love how this neckline frames her face and the dye technique on the wool, wow.
More sweaters with maxi skirts Look 7 & Look 13.
I just love this fabric, I'm happy she kept it simple because that fabric would sell any dress.
Deconstructed jacket same concept as this one.
I like how she used the glossy fabric and the matte for the blocking, nice touch.
Another great idea, the chiffon godets to give it more drama. I also like the little covered buttons, I rarely see covered buttons anymore, so pretty.
Purple lace over fuchsia with looks of bling, my goodness
The Cap sleeves has a shirring detail to give it a rosette effect, same detail on this neckline
I just want 2 yards of this fabric. The bodice is like origami, so stunning.
Wrap over neckline, beautiful.
I love everything about this dress, the mandarin collar, the ruched waistline and you know I love that bishop sleeve with the velvet barrel cuff.
Stunning Velvet fabric
Winter white gown.
And the finale, this gorgeous emerald green gown with the fur detail on the back on the beautiful red head.

Look 32 and Look 5 Swoon!
