Spring 2013 DVF was so inspiring to me, that even though, the fall collection is equally as beautiful and true to DVF, the brand, I absolutely missed the creativity of Yvan Mispelaere.
The Queen of Print went back to the glory days of the disco era, 1970s style with jump suits, a plethora of wrap dresses, hot pink lips and Lynda Carter aka wonder women hair.
"Glam Rock" was clearly about woman empowerment.
When the first faux wrap dress blazed down the runway, I immediately thought, mixed prints but same colors. Check out the beautiful applique done working in the both prints in front of the dress.
Backstage commentary revealed that some editors are very fond of the suede wrap dresses (Look 3 & 5). I will admit, you wouldn't see suede wrap dresses in all the mainstream stores so that is definitely something to think about.
Cute! Nice way to freshen up a velvet jacket.
I adore these seams in this dress.
Generally I wouldn't wear these pieces together, its a lot going on and thats not my personal style, but I love the look, its so over the top and it works.
I love the wing symbol on these pieces I wonder what it means.
I like how the symbol is worked into the design of the bodice using seaming and mixed prints.
I have to figure out how to make a dress like this. I love the hot pink trim on brown and cream fabric.
Megawatt skirt. Super trend for 2013. I've seen it in the spring and now in the fall. I want one with a side zipper I just need to track down some fabric.
This is definiately on my fall sewing list. I love the color combo and the way she did the colorblock, very beautiful.
Very wearing, lots of beautiful prints as always.
