I ran away at lunch today for the Vogue/Mccall's Sale at Joanns.
Lately I've been thinking of embellishments more and more.
Why don't I use them in my garments?
Fear, thats why.
I'm really not up to speed on embellishments, I need to education myself, I need to experiment.
So, of course I was hanging out in the trim aisle today.
A whole new world....
I don't think I've ever stood in that aisle for any reason other than to walk through it to get to another aisle.
I was totally confused, everything I picked up I kept asking myself, how in the world am I going to apply this mess and to what?
I'm thinking a glue gun is out the question, or is it?
Anyway, I grabbed the only thing I know I can work with for sure. I've used leatherette trim before and it was easy to work with.
I changed the color choice so that is still progress IMO.
Not much.
I'm still undecided on what patterns I actually want from the new vogues.
I did get this coat of course, more on this later, the fabric should be here next week and I'm super excited.
I figure that it would take some time to make so by the time I'm finished with that, I should be more "concrete" on what new patterns I want to make from all the collections that were recently released.
This sheath from Mccalls is for my Lela Rose inspired Dress, no fabric for it as yet, I need to find a lightweight tweed in a color I like and that is turning out to be a feat in itself.

Can't wait to see your version of the Lela Rose dress. That is going to be TDF!
