After watching the Prabal Gurang Spring 2014 show, I immediately went back to this fall 2013 collection to experience it again. I thought it was so interesting. I think all the “olive green” does add to the
ilitary inspiration but the design lines and concepts are both thought provoking and cool.
Cool? Yeah, that is the word that comes to mind because I can see the outerwear on young city dwellers, riding on bikes, running through the subway, stomping through the rain in transit from school to work, to work from school.
Hmm, the good old days.
Let’s get into it:
This pullover looks like it’s made out of a water resistant
fabric. If it is, this is really cool, not only is it a peplum raglan style pullover, it also is your rain coat too. A peplum pullover raincoat, I would absolutely wear it.
The first time I saw it I was like, I need a pattern for that because it’s a fit and flare style coat or raincoat. The leather trim really brings out the shape of the coat too.
The fabric on this sequin tee is amazing. The top looks so luxe made out of this silky, drapey fabric.
I love these buttons; they are perfect for this jacket. I like how the epaulettes are placed on the side flaps. I also like it the buttons are positioned to look like a double breasted coat
A different take on the wrap dress, very interesting how the fabric is draped to create the wrap effect
This design is so beautiful, I love that they kept the
pattern at the bottom of the top and the top of the jeans so it’s concentrated
in one visual location.
I love this fabric that is used to make this fit and flare dress. I can’t stop staring at the metallic threading, just beautiful.
I like the cut outs on this shirtdress, I haven’t seen it done like this before. I like that its adds the colorblock design and the cut out feature.
and the shoes, WOW, I love these gold booties
Olive green and gold stilettos, don't even get me started....
