I think Altuzarra is a great place to start when looking at ideas for Fall 2014 fashion.
One can only know what is Chic by analyzing what's Chic.
The main take away this time around was the color combos used for the color blocking, the textures used and fringe.
Fringe being a significant design detail and Suede, the fabric of choice for the coats.
The Double faced shawl coats, look 1 and 3, featured cobalt accented color blocking and patch pockets.
I like how they raised and folded the shawl collar to make it look like a totally different coat here in look 6.
Look 8, I like the cut outs of the sleeve on this dress, its position to fall on the forearm and not on the side of the arm, which is very attactive. The cut out has piping to outline it also. I like that the inserts were done in a black contrast fabric that gives it a colorblock effect also.
The same dress in white:
This simple midi length shirt dress (made out of suiting) is very simple but the color block lining on the lapel and on the belt gives it visual interest.
I also like the belt which could be a scarf styled to be a belt.
Fringe can instantly add a fun factor to a conservative look.
Pine green and Fuchsia, what a striking combo. WOW. I need to keep this in mind because it sure did grab my attention.
Look 18, a sheath made out of grey suiting however pops of orange and fuchsia was used in little slivers to accent the dress. This is such a subtle yet eye catching detail, I would love to have a dress like this for work.
And I also observed that the contrast lining was a major detail of the dresses.
It shows that colorblocking does not have have to be boring and just the littlest pops of it can have a major effect.
All of which is very good to note.
